Job Description
ACTIVITY A: Trading & Portfolio Operations (75%)
Ø Operate a monitor trading platform
Ø Interface with Portfolio Managers and Head Trader to ensure trade execution
Ø Execute traders for Client and Fund accounts under supervision of Head Trader
Ø Assist Head Trader with larger daily long and short orders across global markets, including fixed income, equities, options and futures, FX
Ø Post-Trade Operation including
o Settlement and allocation (public and private securities)
o Intra-day debits and cash management
o Account reconciliation
Ø Pre-Trade Operations including:
o Validate securities and maintain clean database
o Monitor Trade Desk chat for potential trade requests
Ø Liaise with custodians, vendors and other external stakeholders
Ø Assist with pooled funds NAVs, distributions, client details
Ø Monthly performance reporting and generation of monthly fact sheets
Ø Provide ad-hoc operational and support to others
Ø Perform additional duties as requested by investment and trade team
ACTIVITY B: Desk Development (25%)
Ø Collaborate closely with trading teams, portfolio managers, and technology team to optimize trading strategies and workflows
Ø Maintain & improve trading infrastructure: execution algorithms and risk management tools
Ø Work with and assist application development team to improve processes, digitize workflows and increase efficiencies
Preferred Qualifications
- Interest in capital markets and computer programming
- Exposure to EMS/OMS systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to work effectively in a team
- High emphasis on ethics and integrity
- Attention to detail and pride in providing quality service
- Proficiency in Excel VBA, Python, SQL, or other programming languages and data analysis tools is an asset.
