Role Overview
We are seeking a Verafin Developer / Integration Engineer to design, build, and support data integrations into the Verafin AML platform. This role is highly technical, focusing on data pipelines, system integrations, and ensuring accurate, reliable data flow to support transaction monitoring and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Data Integration & Engineering
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines feeding Verafin (e.g., transactions, customer, account data)
- Build and support ETL processes to transform and load data into Verafin
- Develop and maintain integrations using APIs, file-based transfers, and batch processes
- Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness across all feeds
Data Mapping & Transformation
- Define and implement data mapping rules between source systems and Verafin
- Perform data validation, reconciliation, and profiling
- Troubleshoot data issues, including missing, duplicate, or malformed records
System Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide L2/L3 technical support for Verafin integrations and data flows
- Investigate and resolve data ingestion issues, failures, and performance bottlenecks
- Work with upstream/downstream system owners to resolve integration issues
Automation & Optimization
- Automate data workflows and monitoring processes
- Optimize pipelines for performance, scalability, and reliability
- Implement logging, alerting, and monitoring solutions for data pipelines
Collaboration & Delivery
- Work with AML, compliance, and business teams to understand data needs
- Translate business requirements into technical integration solutions
- Support UAT, deployments, and production releases
- Coordinate with vendor (Nasdaq Verafin) support teams as needed
Required Skills & Experience
- Hands-on experience with Verafin (Nasdaq Verafin) or similar AML platforms
- Strong experience in data integration / ETL development
- Proficiency in SQL and data querying
- Experience with scripting/programming (Python, Java, or similar)
- Experience working with APIs, batch processing, and file-based integrations (CSV, XML, JSON)
- Solid understanding of data modeling, mapping, and transformation
- Experience troubleshooting production data pipelines
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in financial services, AML, or fraud detection environments
- Knowledge of transaction monitoring concepts and data structures
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
- Experience with data orchestration tools (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Airflow)
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks (FINTRAC, FATF, etc.)
- Strong problem-solving and debugging capabilities
- Ability to translate complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders
- Detail-oriented with strong data accuracy focus
- Ability to manage multiple integrations and priorities
Pay: $90.00-$95.00 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Toronto, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
