This role is open to residents in and around Calgary or Edmonton, AB, as work will be throughout province at work sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment in substations and related power infrastructure.
• Perform terminations, splicing, and testing of power and control cables.
• Assemble and install electrical components including switchgear, transformers, MCCs, panel boards, lighting, and grounding systems.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, one-line diagrams, and specifications to complete installations accurately.
• Conduct testing and commissioning support for new and upgraded electrical systems.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults and perform repairs in a timely and safe manner.
• Follow all Alberta OHS regulations, Canadian Electrical Code (CEC), and company safety procedures.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas and ensure proper use of tools and equipment.
• Complete daily time sheets, safety documentation, and work reports as required.
• Support senior electricians and apprentices by sharing knowledge and best practices.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• Valid Alberta Journeyman Electrician ticket (Red Seal preferred) or 4th Period Apprentice with significant experience.
• 3+ years of experience in industrial, commercial, or utility electrical work (substation or high-voltage experience is a strong asset).
• Solid understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code and Alberta electrical regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documents.
• Experience with hand tools, power tools, and basic electrical testing equipment.
• Strong commitment to safety and ability to work in a team environment.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and at heights.
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently when required.
