I did not proceed very far in the process, as I decided to withdraw early. Before having the opportunity to speak with anyone at the company, I was asked to complete a take-home programming assignment. The task involved implementing a small library and relied heavily on advanced C++ template techniques.
While the assignment was technically interesting, I would have preferred to have at least an initial conversation with someone from the company before investing significant time in a take-home exercise. For candidates who enjoy modern C++ and template-heavy programming, the process may be a good fit, but I personally found the order of the process somewhat unusual.

Interview
Initial interview talking about CV and previous experience as well as what technologies I was familiar with.
Online technical assessment, one exercise. You have 10 hours to complete it but I used it all to make sure my answer was correct. The key of the exercise is STL containers and algorithms.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with our interview process.
We appreciate you outlining the different stages and how you experienced them, from the initial conversation to the technical assessment. Our goal is to create a process that gives candidates a realistic sense of the role and the kind of challenges they would encounter in the position.

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at think-cell (Germany) in Oct 2024
Interview
Dedicated more than 5 hours into the home task which in fact I really liked solving, but despite I was able to run and test my submission natively successfully, it seems like I got a small mistake in my code that made my submission wrong. That s fair, but apart from the error log, I got no feedback from my submission which I think is a vital when requesting someone to dedicate his whole evening into this. So I wrote a mail to ask for feedback and their response was including some explaining me what most of the applicants do wrong, which in fact none was my case, and so they left me wondering about it. After some digging, I was able to figure out what was it, but I was really upset with the fact that companies are requiring you to dedicate significant amount of time into their assessments, but they are not willing to give back the minimal amount of time that it needs to provide some valuable feedback. If anyone is really interested, he may find out by his own in case he save the page before submitting and keep a snapshot of the error - like I did - but I don t like being treated as a number in someones database , and I would like that my time is respected somehow, so I would not re-apply - at least without hesitations. I am really sure that this company may carry good quality of work, but personally I consider mutual respect as a basis for a future collaboration which in my case Think-cell failed to gain.
