I applied online. I interviewed at eGain (San Jose, CA) in Jan 2026
Interview
15 minute interview with recruiter, and they moved me onto next steps. The recruiter was nice, but it was a very surface level conversation about the company and my background.
Next steps are a 60 minute exam, and then if I pass that, there will be a case study project. From the reviews I read on glassdoor, the case study project is quite time consuming.
I haven't even discussed the role with the hiring manager to see if it's a good fit, and they want me to dedicate hours and hours, just for the privilege of speaking to the hiring manager?
I decided to politely decline, because it's not worth my time to go through these steps, as I'm not even sure I want to proceed with my candidacy.
Considering that I'm over qualified for this role, I believe that eGain is missing out on a great candidate (me) and likely many more in the future.
Do better.
The process was quick and they did not waste much time within the process. Things moved along at a pretty enjoyable pace. I was happy with how quickly things progressed.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at eGain (Sunnyvale, CA) in Sep 2019
Interview
Met with a series of senior leaders and HR Managers. Was required to take a couple standardized test that had nothing to do with the position I was applying for. Left me waiting for over an hour on multiple occasions with no word or update on status. Almost walked out the the interview multiple times because it was run so poorly.
I was originally told the Interview would last from 10-Noon, but the day before I was asked to come in an hour early to take the test mentioned above and because it was scheduled and run so poorly I ended up spending nearly the entire day sitting in a back room twiddling my thumbs while I waited for the the next person to come speak with me. I think I finally left around 3:30, but saw another prospect I interviewed at the same time as, still engaged in the interview process.
