Applied through the careers portal. Recruiter called for the initial discussion. Then setup another initial discussion with a person on similar role. Then setup 2 discussion in the week simultaneously. Then cancelled the 2nd discussion after the 1st discussion. overall, more like a circus. And asked about things worked on 6 yrs ago in the career. Nonsense and Stupid recruitment process of a big company.

Question 1
1. Write a code for anagram 2. Tell me complex things worked on 3. Are you open to relocate.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at VMware (Bengaluru) in Feb 2022
Interview
It's a very lengthy process, It took around 40 days for a total of 6 rounds (2 codings, 1 system design, 1 hiring manager, 2 directors rounds) .
Though it's a lengthy process it is properly managed.
The interviewers, Recruiters were also very nice people.
But the worst part of the interview process was the Job Description, it was not matching with the expectation at all, not even 10% of what is mentioned in the job description.
It is pure people management role, but JD is for a pure technical role.
I felt very disheartened when I was rejected after giving 6 rounds that leadership was the issue.
I agree with this comment somehow, but I would like to highlight one issue here. you cannot expect everything to be perfect as a manager from a person having overall 11 years of experience. 11 years of person could have maximum 3 years of people management experience and tat too with some technical role. It's very very rare for a person with pre people management role with 11 years of experience.
I would suggest the team of you are looking for such a role and please change your job description because candidates read it first. as CV or resume is the first impression so the JD as well.
and please stop taking the technical coding and designing interviews if you don't need that skill at all.
And please provide the proper detailed feedback if you reject the candidate after 6 rounds. Its field is very very bad.

Question 1
Implement Least recent used caching.
Implement a method to get the call stack of a method.
One Design problem.
Behavioural questions in Director's rounds.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at VMware (Bengaluru) in Feb 2021
Interview
The entire process took a little more than a month to complete and it was very well coordinated. The HR sent me an initial note with a few questions focused around testing my subject matter expertise for the role that was floated. This was followed by a conversation with the HR and then 6 rounds of interviews with different levels of Senior Developers, Architects and Directors within the company. All the interviews were deeply focused on the skill sets required for the job, and I must say I enjoyed each one of them. The questions were a mix of the Technical Requirements for the role, the Execution capabilities and the People Management aspects. All in all, I had a great experience.

Question 1
Most of the questions, including the technical ones, were situational. For e.g., tell me 3 technical challenges you are facing while you try to achieve an objective or talk about a situation where you managed multiple stakeholders while delivering on a project. For all the questions, I felt the intention was to understand my capabilities better by validating the responses that I provided. In fact most of my answers were met with a follow up question to know more about my expertise in that area.
