I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Uber (Honolulu, HI) in Apr 2016
Interview
The hiring process in a whole is ridiculous. You have to first write a paper about why you are the perfect candidate. If you pass that part then you get a list of questions and scenarios you have to fill out about what you would do in those situations to help the customer. Then if you pass that part you get a video conference phone call and a follow up email about a start date if they choose you. The whole questionnaire portion was so stupid. You would think that you're actually applying for a real job and not some crap that refuses to call you an employee for liability reasons.

You will have a couple of rounds where they test your skills and interests. You will have a basic analytical test, a communication skills test ( you will have a better chance if you know the local language). You must be a true hustler. You will be asked to on-board 5 drivers or 50 riders on the platform and they will be tracking this in the backend.
