    Difficult Interview

I applied online. I interviewed at Uber (United States)

The process itself was very organized and I appreciated the recruiters thoughtfulness and helpfulness in the process. In that way, it was great! The interview process was standard phone screen, technical/behavioral interview with 2 members of the team, final round interview with an intensive presentation regarding strategy. This process, however, was ruined by the unprofessionalism the interviewers had during the final-round presentation I spent 2 whole days preparing for. While presenting one of the interviewers was clearly holding back laughter when I presented certain ideas. They made it very clear they did not like my presentation, nor my ideas. I felt very uncomfortable during the presentation. I guess at least I wasn't surprised I wasn't offered the role? But given that experience, I would not have wanted to accept it regardless. Please be professional and respectful when someone is presenting their work, regardless of your opinions.

Today we are sharing our 5th update on diversity, equity and inclusion at Uber. Since our last update we made meaningful progress in increasing the diversity of our team. A few noteworthy highlights: - The global population of women grew almost 2 percentage points and women in leadership grew 1.2 percentage points. - In the US, the overall representation of underrepresented groups increased by 5 percentage points. - We saw a 2.8 percentage point increase of Black and African American individuals in the US. While we are glad with the progress we made, our work is never done. We will continue to work to ensure Uber is a great place to work for all.
