Initial zoom screening interview followed by a request to have a school visit and demo lesson. They also asked me to complete a 6 week unit plan. It was extremely thorough. The demo lesson was followed by a tour of the school and a sit down interview. They mentioned how great the unit plan was and that they should implement several of the lessons/field visits into their curriculum. I was told I'd hear back soon and after 3 weeks of being ghosted from them I reached out to ask for clarity and was told they would not move forward. Not only do they ask for free labor, but ghosting your candidates after their interviews, even if you don't intend to hire them, is extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. I would stay away from this organization.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What systems/routines do you like to implement/create in the first few weeks of school?
I applied online. The process took 5 months. I interviewed at The Croft School in Jan 2025
Interview
1. Initial Zoom Call: The head of schools was so easy to speak with and the conversation felt just like that, a conversation!
2. Project Task: I was assigned a task to create a unit plan that incorporates some of Crofts core themes and ideas.
3. Demo Lesson: I observed classroooms, gave a demo lesson, and then had an interview with the administration team to reflect afterwards.
4. Teacher Interview: I spoke with the other lead teacher at that grade level.
5. Family Interview: I spoke with a family at the school.
The interview process was LENGTHY. I started interviewing in January and did not know I got the job until May. It took patience, but I am glad it all worked out. I also appreciated their transparency about the job process.

Question 1
Can't recall the questions. They were a mix of standard, what you'd expect with some applied thinking questions! For example, how would you adapt this lesson for a child struggling?
