I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Shopify (Waterloo, ON) in Jan 2017
Interview
First step was a phone interview that was quite brief (15-20 min). Asked generic questions about my education, previous employment, why shopify, etc. Second interview was a Skype interview (45-60 min) with someone else and this is where they asked my "life story", but it was more like a life story starting at university/college and again asked about my employment experience. All in all, no really difficult questions. They ended up going with people who had software sales experience.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Shopify (Waterloo, ON)
Interview
I was contacted by phone for a 30 minute interview in which I went over my CV and discussed my 'life story.' I then had an interview with a recruiter in the Shopify office and it was essentially the same 'life story.' Then there was an interview with multiple team members (management and junior).
Very casual and a little repetitive, I felt as though I was repeating myself 5 times in a row...Overall I enjoyed the experience.

Question 1
Standard question - a lot about my life and past experiences
Very Casual
I applied in-person. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Shopify (Toronto, ON) in Nov 2016
Interview
I got 5 rounds of interviews, and they were all very detailed and mostly behavioural oriented. On number 4 and 5, they asked further technical questions, but overall I was very impressed with the detailed process and the emphasis their team placed on appropriate culture-fit.
