      Account Executive Interview

      Mar 6, 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Declined offer
      Neutral experience

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Salesforce

      Interview

With a company as big as salesforce you would expect them to be more transparent and give candidates a fair chance. I will also say i have never been this frustrated with any process in my whole life and ive interviewed and worked for the big dogs (oracle, IBM etc). The process started with 2 phones calls with recruiters, followed by another phone interview with hiring manager, then a on-site interview with 2 hiring managers followed by a in person presentation. I dont understand, if they did not like me the first couple of rounds it would be much nicer and easier on everyone to reject from there. But after the presentation, i closed the VP and he said i cannot provide feedback. i pushed harder as you would from any AE and he persisted. not giving me an opportunity to address his concerns. I was told right after the interview from the recruiter saying they thought it went well and that they have sat in on many interviews and thought it went well and would call me shortly, just to never hear from them. I was then told i did not get the job. I have never in my life been more frustrated and disappointed. This is coming from someone that has 5 years of SaaS experience president club winner and all. Then when asking feedback they said the following "it was the little things, they said you said uh and um too many times". Really? i do presentation for a living. I even presented them with a 90 day plan which was not required along with my numbers. This step was not required. Its like you need to be a brain surgeon to get in. You cannot expect candidates to be perfect. I know it was something at the end because with the hiring manager i had already done 3 interviews, it was the VP in specific. Actually give candidates an opportunity to do good work before writing them off especially when said candidate is a multiple president club winner. If you do decide to reject have the decency to give feedback so candidates can build on it dont make this a one way street only.

      Interview

Recruiter missed multiple interviews only to tell me they have no positions only. 6 months later I receive an interview invite with pay $20k lower than originally discussed Manager arrives late to the interview then cuts the time early. Company seems disorganized and difficult to take seriously as a so called leader in SaaS.

pretty easy interview. Had to do a case. It felt like it was just a formality and they put me up to it to fit into their standard processes. Not the best experience but it is what it is
