      Engineering Manager Interview

      Interview

The process was pretty smooth. One phone screen with recruiter, one with EVP , preparation call with recruiter than onsite. If you interview in Cambridge please plan about an hour to find parking, there is none available anywhere especially for more than 2 hours. The onsite was pretty disorganized. Each interviewer had a different style and while they were.for the most part nice people most of them were not skilled at all at interviewing. I met with two technical members of the team , a pm, the former manager and an honotific VP . It was shocking to me that there was such a disconnect in the team and that while some were embracing a total lack of structure and accountability some were begging for some processes to be implemented. The questions were weak and many were borderline legal. Not sure what the expectation is for a person jumping in as a manager as it seems like many embrace the weak product vision and the lack of structure as great for the team. It was.the most disfuncional team that I have ever met. I hope they fix their game otherwise they won't be able to attract strong talent.

      Interview

Interview Process is good but lengthy. Spoke to some very nice tech leaders. The interview experience is nice with all the panelists but the incremental rounds are little frustrating. Overall nice interview experience.

      Interview

Brief conversation with a recruiter and another engineering manager. Asked about conflict resolution and prioritization. I found both people I chatted with to be engaged and polite, though I found out later that I was not seriously considered for the role.

      Interview

Hiring process is a mess. You get 2-3 rounds of interivews and once cleared. You are again asked to provide availability of a bunch of interviews with name of Onsite rounds. weirdly scheduled conducted Online and different time periods especially late nights, early morning based on interviewers. Series of interviews with various team members. Moderate interviews including interactions with Eng Manager, Product Marketing Director & few Sr. developers. After each interview round you believe you are shortlisted for the next round. But after spending hours of rounds of these interviews least you would expect was to being ghosted by HR. Eventually after all interviews you just get a standard automated email after a week or 10 days that they are pursuing someone else. Basic courtesy of calling and informing was missing especially when you are told you have cleared previous rounds until the last round. Please dont waste your time with these rounds and please set expectations with HR before hand so you dont face these issues.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Moderate round with Scenario based questions. Sr Developers did ask for a system design use case for a video calling application. otherwise interviews where straight forward gauging your engineering management abilities.
