      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Salesforce (Bengaluru) in Nov 2016

      Interview

One of the most comprehensive, agile ,relevant and transparent interviewing processes I've been a part of. I've interviewed /worked at top tier tech firms prior and salesforce set the bar exceptionally high when it came to my interviewing experience. Three things stood out 1) HR responsiveness 2) my journey as a candidate through the process 3) transparency, trust and personable nature of all I spoke with. From the moment I applied till the time I was offered the job - I encountered extremely polite, friendly and intelligent people across all departments I interviewed with. From application to offer it took 4 weeks which is a tremendously quick timeline given the depth and breadth of process. I applied through LinkedIn and was contacted a few days later. The process involved 2 VCs, 2 onsites , 1 presentation along with an initial online predictive index test. All through, I was impressed with the extremely quick and responsive HR -she really set the tone for the entire interview process. Great first contact and partner in this. Often the candidate experiences uncertainty due to lack of communication - but the was very respectful of my time and treated me with utmost courtesy and consideration. For e.g before every interview the co-ordinator called me , reminded me , re-checked if the timing still worked and if I needed anything else. If they treat their employees as well as they treat their candidates- it's indeed #dreamjob. My interviewers, senior HR contact , the HR coordinator and I were all in different geographies and timezones- and it was impressive how the process was seamlessly managed - on time and everything logistically sharp. I was giving details of the interviewer , agenda and topics that would help my preparation before so that I could really deliver. It really seemed like the HR was on my side- rooting for me to get the job. It was clear they were looking for potential rather than reasons to reject and that attitude , I know from experience, goes a long way into building successful teams. The interviews were very relevant - the questions asked were all on-job situation based and really focused to understand my thought process, my creativity and problem solving abilities. They hire for aptitude as well as attitude to learning- and they were astute in their assessment - the questions cut right through to your actual skills rather than just buying pre-rehearsed / buzz word speak. I was interviewed by very senior leaders ( directors, RVPs,HR head) , but they were so down to earth that they made me feel immediately comfortable- and set me up for success to put my best foot forward in the process . I've had interviews with other organizations feel like an interrogation - Salesforce displayed immense maturity in its recruiting by conducting the interviews not like a military drill ( as most big companies tend to do ) but totally in line with their professed culture. It was clear that it wasn't just lip service to their values- everyone I spoke with seemed genuinely happy ,fulfilled and passionate . This was a big plus and requirement for me as they seemed to care about culture and organizational fit as I did. You know the feeling when you're done with an interview and feel charged up? Yup- that's exactly how I felt each of my rounds. I knew, no matter what the outcome- that I had really enjoyed the process and would like to keep in touch with the organization . Fortunately, the outcome was good- I was offered the job after my last interview . I happily accepted after a few days. I highly recommend interviewing with Salesforce - the experience is incredible.

      Interview

Straightforward process with transparent next steps and feedback. The early rounds were very conversational followed by a presentation round where you are given a case study and prepare to present to a customer's C-suite.

      Interview
