Had an initial call for a sales account executive role. They had an admin assistant set up a phone call within a time range, not at a set time. This was supposed to be an initial interview so I was expecting them to call me and tell me more about the company/ role and then ask me about my experience.
The person interviewing me had a very dry and off-putting personality and right out the gate she is asking me what I know about the company and why I want to work there.
1. The company is not that well-known so I was not even sure if the company that I came across during a Google search was the same company.
2. I believe it's a red flag when there was no introduction to the company/ role before being grilled by an employee that is not even in a hiring/ sales leadership role.
3. The call was awkward and a waste of everyone's time.
