I was interviewing with Oracle Labs Zurich. I passed two rounds and interviewers seemed okay. Not without organizational hiccups though: no wonder, the interviewers, recruiter and coordinator sit in three different countries. After that I tried to ping them about the status for about a month (corona time, yeah, I was sick with it myself for two week during that month). Eventually they responded that I was qualified for the next round of selection (no such thing as next round for anyone I know at my school who applied there) and I would have to wait for two months for the update. They referred to corona complications, except that at least two of my classmates got their offers just around the same day I got this response, and they started interviewing process pretty much in parallel with me. Next outright lie was when I asked what was the start date of the internship, and they said that July was absolutely off the table and now I learn that some of my friends start in July. Not to even mention that during the on-campus event I emphasized multiple times that I didn't want to deal with machine learning, and was interested in compilers, and yet the first words from the recruiter were: alright, so you wanna do an internship with an ML team... :)) Overall, I still think they're doing a pretty good job with Graal VM, and there are some super smart people who would be super cool to work with. But the recruitment process is unacceptable.
