I was contacted directly by a Nordstrom recruiter for some new roles coming up after a re-organization of the IT department, I had a phone conversation/interview with the hiring manager and based on that was invited to Seattle for a face to face interview.
The face to face interview was a bit of a mess, somewhere there was a communication breakdown between recruiting and all of the people involved in the interview. Nobody knew what room to go to so I sat by myself in the lobby for a long time. The hiring manager had a conflict and was out of the office, nobody from recruiting told him I was coming. This pretty much turned me off and I had decided that there was no way I would accept an offer, it was very disrespectful how I was treated.
Most of the people I did meet with were very nice and professional. One guy was a complete tool, I could tell that he did not really care for me and was asking a lot of technical questions that really had no relevance to the position I was interviewing for.
Overall a crappy experience due to the recruiting department's inability to communicate in a timely manner with me and the hiring manager.
