I attended an interview with Nokia on April 28th and successfullly cleared all the rounds, including the managerial round, which was supposed to be the final stage. Soon after. I received a rejectio email that mentioned the position as "Technical Lead," even though I was actually being considered for the "Techical Specilist" role. This caused a lot of confusion, but after nearly three months, in August, I was contacted again and informed that the rejection had been sent by mistake. They told me there were still vacancies for the same role and asked me to attend another round of interbiews. After completing it, I was again rejected, and once more the email stated the role as "Technical Lead."
Throughout the process, I was referred to "Techmical Specialist," but got rejection mail for "Technical Lead" which made things even more unclear. At one point, after keeping me on hold for around 209minutes, the manager joined the call, assured me that everything was fine, and even explained in detail about the component I would be working on - not once, but twice - at the very end of the process. Despite these discussions, on th following monday I received a rejection email, this time citing that another candidate had been finalized at the last moment.
What makes the situation more disappointing is that the person selected came form a networking background, while I clearly do no, and Nokia was aware of my exact skill set and experience from the beginning. Knowing this, they should not have cosidered me for such a mismatch in the first place. Overall, the entire experience was confusing, time- consumig, and ultimately a frustating waste of effort for me.
