      Accepted offer
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Microsoft

      Interview

Had to meet with 4 interviewers, the last one being the optional “as appropriate” interview. All coding questions. You are evaluated on how you solve the problems. I was very nervous which wasn’t held against me.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

      A coding question involving recursion

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Microsoft (Redmond, WA) in Jan 2021

      Interview

There were many interviewers, each providing a few coding questions. They are not too easy, not too difficult. It was very fair and the interviewers were fun to talk with.

      Application

I applied in-person. I interviewed at Microsoft (Bellevue, WA) in Feb 2018

      Interview

Excellent process and thorough. I interviewed with several engineers. Prompt follow up. They also set up all the travel and other arrangements for a successful interview. There was some waiting time between interviews however.

      Interview questions [2]

      Question 1

They asked me a technical question about sampling a rotating platter which was half black and half white, and to understand the minimal number of samples required in order to determine the color under the sensor. It had to do with the Nyquist rate.

      Question 2

They asked me to implement a quick sort
