Interview
I have recently applied for the Staff Software Engineer position at Intuit, and I had also applied for the same role in the past.
However, the interview process has been extremely disappointing each time.
They expect candidates to build a fully working, almost production-ready application purely for interview purposes.
With existing professional responsibilities, it is unrealistic and impractical to spend that level of time on developing a complete application.
I have gone through this interview process 3–4 times, and on every occasion, I lost interest during the craft (coding) round due to this requirement.
As a result, I have decided that I will not be applying to Intuit again in the future.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
1st round 1.5 hrs. with problem solving, system design, behavioral questions and current projects.
2nd round - craft round -> never developed fully working application because of its time consuming and less interested.
Some 2-3 more round, who cares.
After the initial round of coding, I didn't hear back from the recruiter. I followed up with her a couple of times but she didn't even bother replying to my emails. So don't waste your time with them. And the actual interview went well.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Intuit in Mar 2026
Interview
First a basic coding panel. Very easy
Then an all day interview:
1. 90 minute "craft interview" with code you need to develop in front of 5 people.
2. Individual coding segment on "design"
3. Interview with hiring manager on your work
Interview questions [3]
Question 1
Make the tinyllama model give a nickname based on a player from a spring based table. You are given the code before to implement this and the spring project. You will need to implement the new api and the code to do this.

Interview
Take home and then three technical interviews. Requested that I prepare a project presentation for the interview. Technical covered coding and architecture. Company seems very compartmentalized. Very slow getting a response, slow process overall. Seems like fairly outdated deployment processes.
