I had a very disappointing interview experience. On the first day, I completed the technical round, followed by another discussion the next day. Since I was a new joiner, both the Manager and HR rounds were scheduled on the same day, and I cleared all four rounds.
After that, I was asked to travel to the client’s Bangalore office for an additional client round. I booked my travel and accommodation, but the interview was cancelled the previous night around 7 PM. Because of the late notice, I couldn’t cancel my bookings and ended up losing around ₹4,000.
Two days later, I was suddenly asked to take an iMocha test for a “different client.” After completing the test, the recruiter stopped responding to calls and messages. After repeated follow-ups, I was told that I had not cleared it. Since iMocha clearly shows correct answers, it felt like the entire process was just a way to reject a candidate after putting them through multiple rounds.
Overall, this felt like a complete waste of time, effort, and money. The experience came across as unprofessional and misleading.
Advice to Management & Recruiters:
Maintain transparency throughout the hiring process.
Avoid last-minute cancellations, especially when candidates incur travel expenses.
Respect candidates’ time by keeping the process organized and consistent.
Provide timely, honest communication instead of leaving candidates without updates.
If a rejection is the final decision, convey it directly rather than extending the process unnecessarily.
A streamlined and respectful hiring process reflects positively on the company and helps build trust with candidates.
