      I interviewed at Chevron

      Interview

First step was a 15 minute phone screen with a recruiter, where I was asked questions which I had already answered on the application (are you a US citizen? will you require sponsorship? what is the salary range you're expecting?). I tried asking for some more details about the role itself, but the recruiter was unable to answer even the most basic questions I asked which I found to be odd. The recruiter was also based out of Argentina and was interviewing me for a role in California, which I also found to be unusual. A few days later, I was sent a written assignment to complete (STARS questionnaire). Pretty quickly thereafter, an onsite panel interview was scheduled with the hiring manager and a couple of others on the team. The onsite was roughly an hour and a half, and the panelists I spoke with were incredibly lovely and hospitable. The questions they asked were mostly behavorial/situational, and followed the same "STARS" formatting as the written assignment. The hiring manager walked me out telling me I did great and to expect to receive a follow up from the recruiter shortly. It's been over 3 weeks now and crickets, even after following up with the recruiting team. I highly suggest Chevron rethink their recruiting process, the recruiter they assigned to these California-based positions seem to lack even the most basic knowledge of the roles they're trying to fill and ghosts candidates that have spent hours of their time interviewing for the company. I was approached by another Chevron recruiter to interview for a similar role, but I decided to pass on that opportunity given my prior experience.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Chevron (San Ramon, CA) in Sep 2018

      Interview

Drilled, question after question. God forbid with these corporations you have a disability. They look at you with no expression on their face. I’m sure an amazing company but no character. I’m sure you have to be a cookie cutter to be hired. Corporations do panel interviews with little to no personable interaction.
