I worked at Ontario Power Generation full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

There was many resources to your day to day work. There was upto date prints and manuals on the equipment. The people, there where helpful, from the engineer who specialized in that system, to fellow tradespeople who had experience on the system or office worker who gave you direction to find information, it was a team effort. The wages, benefits and vacation was all good. There was great safety culture and training to go with it. There is many opportunities within the company to move into related field of work

    Cons

Changes where slow, there was many layers of management for projects to get approved.

    Advice to Management

Management would tend to get to involved with the job rather than allow the worker to think the problem. Stop letting the government ruin the company, and run it as strong company it is.
