I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Capital One (New York, NY) in Jan 2019
Interview
I was contacted by a recruiter and I told him I was passive in my search. I decided to speak to him anyway. When we started our call, he immediately fired off interview questions (no joke) instead of introducing me to the role. Any decent recruiter knows that if a candidate is passive, you need to provide them information about the role and get them interested. He was more interested in metrics. He asked me why I’m looking to leave my current company. Clearly no attention to detail because I clearly told him I was passive. He also did not bother initiating a conversation about the opportunity until I nudged him to do so. He then had the audacity to minimize the question by saying “well I’m not sure what you want to know, its a recruiting role”. Ummm okay buddy, great job at selling the role and also HOW BORING. You lost my interest for the 50th time in this conversation.
He also was very pushy about salary expectations. When I pushed back, he I insisted that i provide him some sort of number. Sure I get that, but know your candidate type. If the candidate is passive and does not wish to discuss salary, save it for another conversation. He seemed like the “every other recruiter” that people hate and talk about. Not impressed with his style at all. Also, it was clear that he did not bother looking at my LinkedIn profile from one or two questions he asked. It was a huge turn off and I was immediately not interested in the role. What a joke!

Very straight forward, one initial interview but the last round is a 4 part interview that asks some difficult questions. They were very friendly but some of the questions were just hard.
