I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Capital One (Toronto, ON) in Sep 2018
Interview
Applied online with a resume and cover letter. I was sent an online technical/logic test consisting of coding in Python and SQL, as well as some logic problems. I had an HR screening call and was then invited for an on-campus interview. This interview consisted of a technical test and a business case. After further consideration I was contacted for a second on-campus interview consisting of a behavioural interview and another business case. Keep in mind that they told me they often change the order of interviews.
All of the interviewers and HR staff/recruiter were friendly and welcoming and were sure to leave time for me to ask them questions at the end of the interview. The offer was too hard not to accept!
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Business cases were nothing unexpected. Google a few practice cases and you should be good to go. I got stuck a few times and needed help, and the interviewer was more than willing to provide it.
Technical test was to write a few algorithms or pseudocode for problems in Python and SQL.
Behavioural test was typical: "tell me about a time when..."
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Capital One (Dallas, TX) in Jan 2026
Interview
I had an interview with the hiring manager, and she started to ask about my CV and went through the details of each project, and also asked additional questions about each project, what would happen if we do this or that
The recruiter call me and after a 30 min meeting with HR they set me up for interview with the manager, but no one showed up and they never responded my email
Two technical rounds with case studies and coding + SQL. Coding was just LC easy level and SQL was a bit more challenging but being comfortable with all the key words should be good enough.
