      Software Engineer/Data Engineer Interview

      Oct 20, 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Capital One (New York, NY) in Oct 2016

      Interview

The whole process was pretty long: 3 back to back 45 minute interviews. There was supposed to be one behavioral, one technical, and one case (yes, they did a case for a technical position). The behavioral portion, however was more technical in the sense that the interview asked technical questions (not problem solving ones, just questions about how things work). The technical portion was pretty generic, with a linked list question, a design question, and a SQL question. They send you prep for the case, but it essentially reasoning through a business problem.

      Question 1

Implement addition where the numbers are represented by 2 linked lists. How do RDDs work in Scala/Spark? How would you design an implementation of a resume book?
