I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Capital One (Richmond, VA) in Sep 2011
Interview
I got the interview through a referral. The process started with a online test including 3 parts: personality, math and verbal tests. Not hard, but it was really timed. I just finished 15 questions out of 18 in the math part but still pass it. 2 weeks later, I flew to Richmond for an on-site interview and had a dinner with the candidates and current employees. The whole process was very professional. Everyone was helpful and friendly. Next day, I had 1 job fit interview, 1 behavior interview and 2 cases interviews. Be sure to prepare couple examples to describe a situation when you were in college or past job. I am an eco graduate and used to get a 50 out 51 on my GMAT test so the case part for me was not that hard. Both two cases were about credit cards. Given some parameters, to calculate the profits, if the situation changed which part will be also affected and break even calculation etc. I did some cases from McKinsey before but COF cases were different. Mckinsey's cases are more like a consulting process but COF is more focused on math and easier. Communication was also important and necessary. I was expecting to get an offer cuz my friend told me the cases part were more important. I thought I did pretty well and got the right answers in the end but was not selected. COF maybe looking for perfect candidates who are not only good at math but also well-rounded. Good luck guys! It is a good company to work.
The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Capital One in Sep 2023
Interview
First round was a case study where you had to figure out some numbers. They gave you some information on the study and you could ask questions and then you had to provide an answer.

Question 1
They gave a case study on a bank and asked to derive numbers from it.
I applied online. I interviewed at Capital One in Nov 2020
Interview
The interview process consisted of two steps. The first was an initial case interview which was fully remote.
They asked about credit card interest rates and default rates of customers, and the math was algebraic in nature. I did have to draw out risk/profitability graphs and find the break-even points, so be ready for some visual analysis as well as technical analysis.
The second round was the "super day". Again, it was completely remote and it consisted of 3 back to back interviews, each lasting an hour long or so. The entire process for the final round lasted about 4-5 hours in total. There was another case interview (similar to the first) and a behavioral interview, where they asked about various ways you work in teams, your work preferences, and various scenarios about your past work experiences, etc. Finally, there was a "FRP Fit" interview. This consisted of specific questions about how you would fit in to this program and what kinds of things you take interest in.
Overall, the experience was great, and it didn't take so long like some of these reviews did. The entire process from start to finish may have been a month to a month and a half in total.
The offer is very very high, considering someone coming straight out of college.
I applied through university. I interviewed at Capital One (Chapel Hill, NC)
Interview
First round case interview. Very simple consulting-like question based on credit worthiness. Began with qualitative element and moved into quantitative, where you were expected to provide a recommendation based on the evidence. Follow up interviews consist of multiple similar simple case interviews, and one behavioral one. Took about 45 minutes, and the interviewer made sure to guide you at points if you got stuck. Overall, not too complex and the interviewer was very easy to work with.
