      Scrum Master Interview

      Mar 18, 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at CIBC in May 2022

      Interview

Met with the Director who talked for 25 of the 30 minutes about the job. It was more of a job than anything else. No questions about me. Horrible interviewer.

      Scrum Master Interview

      May 27, 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at CIBC

      Interview

The HR screening was regular and alright. The interview from the director was not the best experience and he was rude. He starts a video interview without having his camera on nor explaining his absence on camera, asks questions in a condescending tone, became snarky about the questions I asked back and eventually started telling me that he didn’t believe my years of experience was enough to justify the salary I was asking. If salary was truly an issue, I feel that they could have done the decent thing of not selecting me for an interview to begin with. I get that the role of software delivery in a bank isn’t the easiest and I feel that the interviewer wanted to test my resiliency in the environment. However the interviewer was rude, disrespectful and condescending and I personally would never want to work for him even if he offers me a higher than expected salary. CIBC should look into making the candidate experience more empathetic and honest like what the job description said, this interview really showed that they were anything but empathetic and honest in their job posting.
