      Marketing Director Interview

      Sep 23, 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through other source. I interviewed at CGI

      Interview

Dismissive and unbalanced interview lacking respect and fairness for candidates I interviewed for a senior role at CGI and came well-prepared with cases, measurable outcomes, and strategies aligned to the job description. Unfortunately, the conversation with the hiring manager did not resemble an interview. There were no skills-based questions, no engagement with the introductory part when I was asked about my background, no follow-up questions, and very short answers to my own questions — which made the exchange feel closed rather than a genuine dialogue. I was later told the first stage is meant to test cultural fit and two-way dialogue. However, in practice, the interaction did not reflect that. On my first question, the manager appeared dispersed, asked me to repeat myself, and responded by saying they did not know about the topic or that the company did not have the process/tool I asked about — even though I know this not to be accurate from my research. This made it difficult to establish the kind of open two-way exchange they described, and instead left the impression that the conversation was closed off from the start. CGI is an impressive company with a strong culture, but the process felt more about snap judgments - or shaped by subjective bias - than a fair assessment of ability.

      Question 1

Tell me a bit about your background (only question, so not able to classify the difficulty level of the process)
