      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Blizzard Entertainment

      Interview

Design test which made no sense given the game I was told I was applying to work on. (Turns out they were, in actuality hiring for a different project.) Then a group phone interview with a bunch of disinterested, borderline rude devs.

      Question 1

Oh, you've worked as a cook, what's your secret ingredient?

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Blizzard Entertainment in Nov 2023

      Interview

The interview process started out really great but quickly became a waste of time. I had an initial video interview with the recruiter to go over my experience and the job. Initially they were great and had fantastic communication. They mentioned that given the lack of work examples I could show because of NDAs, the team would feel more comfortable giving me an art test before I interviewed with them. No problem, understandable. I was given a week to play World of Warcraft and thoroughly describe things about the game and back myself up with examples. It wasn't difficult, but it was LENGTHY. I spent hours of my time to do this. I submitted the test a day early, and waited. And waited. I sent periodical check in emails to make sure I kept the interest alive, but got the same repeat email stating I'd have an update soon. Finally I got an email stating the role was stalled out. Shortly after a round of layoffs hit and the recruiter I was working with was laid off. At that point I decided to contact members of the team where I learned that they either never saw my test or didn't even want to bother with my application because I couldn't show my most recent work due to NDA. I was very excited for this specific job since it matched my prior experience, and now I'm just put off.

      Interview

Took a long time to get the interview. The process is good and relax. They are very nice. Just some questions are little hard to answer in the short time.
