I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Bankers Life (Chantilly, VA) in Aug 2012
Interview
Three step interview process. Career briefing to learn about the branch and insurance industry. Second interview in a group to get a feel for the manager and daily life of an agent. Third interview for them to see if you will make a good match with the branch and motivated to work hard. If you are articulate, you will get hired. It's up to you if you will be able to keep the job. It's not a hard line of work, but you have to always be active. You run your business. Talk about your entrepreneurial skills, your drive to work hard, wanting to help people with insurance/financial products...and they will love you. Ask questions about the team dynamics. Research medicare and how it affects seniors.

I applied through other source. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Bankers Life (Muncie, IN) in Mar 2026
Interview
It started with a briefing seminar in a group before an in person interview. The questions were brief and in line with other sales jobs. Motivation seems to be the highest desire from the employer.
Very easy group briefing and then a personal one on one interview. You get to see exactly what you'll be getting into and the awesome structure of the company. You also get to see how you can develop your career there.
