I applied through other source. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Bankers Life in Sep 2012
Interview
Not a typical interview. They give you an initial impression that you are meeting the manager at your first meeting, but it's only a ploy to get you in for a sales pitch about the company. They pretty much call in anyone for interview regardless of qualifications, interests or background. I got my resume pulled from monster and I asked my friend to sign up on monster, and she also got a call for an interview.

Other Financial Advisor interview reviews for Bankers Life
Led me in circles, dodged questions about fees, NDA, and contract structure. NDA lead to a discussion about how the people who leave don’t do well on their own selling products as she tried to manipulate me for bringing up the concern. Gave me a gimmick growth roadmap packet for license acquisition, bonuses, and vacation bonuses. Clueless when I attempted to discuss annuity products. Manager either refused or did not know anything about the structure of the products they sold. I was genuinely astonished as I asked about my fit in the role, and I got a “you’re smart”, but your intentions are unclear, after I explained the contract, NDA , and growth was very unclear. Told me to go, “Talk to someone I respected,” to make the decision to shove me out the door. Gave me the impression that this was as close to scam and a legal business can get.

Did not ask me much, it was a sales pitch on bonus vacations, direct compensation, and bonuses.

Interview
I was originally messaged through Indeed on the job posting and set up an in person interview for the following week. The interview ended up being a "group interview." It really was just a guy spending an hour trying to sell a 1099, 100% commission job. It felt like a bait-and-switch since I applied for Financial Advisor and, that was the job listing I received the initial message from, only for the guy to verbatim say none of us would be Financial Advisors for a year or more. He also basically stated that a trained monkey could do the job.
