I have never been so disgusted with an interview process then I was today. I felt filthy just listening to the guy. Found the listing on Facebook which connected to a Craigslist listing. They are why Craigslist listings are to me avoided. Was able to get an interview after an email, where they clearly did not even look at my application. At the interview I made the first cut, which the manager said was to 'weed out the crazy people.' After that applicants who survived were given a personality test that focused on how competitive we were and really nothing else. During the hour long presentation, the guy said that he was looking to hire people with a 'narcissistic personality' because they are driven. The whole organization cog felt like a pyramid scheme, especially when he was describing how offices operate. As much as I would like to have the salary that will allow me to pay 'five mortgages,' I would rather have a job where I can respect myself. Any intelligent person can see that the leads they give you are not generated based off people wanting their services. In fact, thanks to sitting through this presentation I now know what companies to avoid giving my contact information too so I don't get calls about their life insurance. (Writing this immediately after, I am so disturbed. I made no effort to get an offer as I had a little too much fun on my personality test. I put 'no offer,' because I don't want one from this company.)
