      Flight Attendant Interview

      Oct 11, 2013
      Anonymous employee
      Dallas, TX
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at American Airlines (Dallas, TX) in Aug 2013

      Interview

I'm going to try and be as detailed as possible, so sorry if it's a little long! Helpful tips: -Make sure you have your passport BEFORE you apply -Smile -Dress conservatively and professionally. Men, wear a suit. Women, blouse, skirt, heels, light make up. Dress similar to what an FA for AA would wear, but nicer. Cover any visible tattoos, and if you have dyed hair that isn't natural, you'll be passed over. -Talk to everyone you meet. Introduce yourself, smile, don't be shy! Your personality is what they want to see most. -When you're on the property, you ARE being watched. Cameras everywhere, and you'd be surprised who's a recruiter. Always, always, always, use your manners, smile and be nice! -RELAX. Seriously. Take a deep breath before you speak, smile, listen and have fun! 1. Apply online via their website, under the "Careers" section. 2. Get invited to a video interview; the computer asks you questions and you record your answers in live time 3.Received an email asking me to finish complete application 4. Received a phone call inviting me to Dallas for a face to face interview -As soon as you step off that shuttle, you are on! Smile, say hi to everyone you see. Janitors, people in the hallway, ANYONE. They ARE watching. 5. You go into a room and are given a clipboard with a question that you write a response to. Mine was, "American Airline flies all around the world. If you could fly anywhere right now, where would you go and why? 6. The recruiter takes your passport and form and you're sent to another conference room 7. At this point, you sit at a table with 4-5 other people and do a group activity. -VERY IMPORTANT, RECRUITERS ARE STANDING AROUND THE ROOM WATCHING YOU. Smile, interact with everyone at your table! -You get a large sheet of paper, and draw a circle and inside put 3 things that you all have in common -Draw a separate line and add something about yourself that no one could guess by looking at you 8. Someone in your group is chosen as the "speaker" to present your group's similarities and give a fact from the paper, BUT not their own fact. 9. Everyone in the room guesses until all the groups have presented 10. Group interview; 4 or 5 of you will meet with 2 recruiters who will ask you questions. You answer as you'd like, no raising hands. LISTEN TO EVERYONE'S ANSWER. 11.5 minute break; take the time to talk to EVERYONE in that room. Remember, your personality is what sells you! 11. You watch a presentation on the job itself; and they cover pay, vacations, work schedules, etc. 12. They have an open forum for questions. 13.They call you out one by one, based on when your return flight leaves. 14. If you move on, you're sent to another room where you do additional paperwork, get fingerprinted, do a reach test, and a one on one interview. 2 weeks, and you should receive an email with DOT forms to fax back, then you're scheduled to fly back to Dallas for a physical/drug test/POET test.
