      Flight Attendant Interview

      Aug 26, 2016
      Anonymous employee
      Dallas, TX
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at American Airlines (Dallas, TX) in Aug 2016

      Interview

This review is only about the face to face interview: I had my face to face interview recently, don't want to say what date so I won't be narrowed down to who I am. (SAFETY PRECAUTION) haha I really want this job. If you live in another state, they will fly you to Texas. I arrived 2 hours early. Took a shuttle to the American Airlines Training and Conference center. Once I arrived, there were other candidates already waiting. I recommend interacting with them. Get to know their names. Everyone I met was extremely nice. We sat in the lobby and went around saying our names. All of us (15) ended up remembering each others names. More people start to arrive as the time passes by. There is a cafeteria if you are hungry. When 11:45 AM hits, someone from the recruitment team will bring you to another room. In that room they will ask you to pick a table to sit. You do a group activity called Who's Who. Basically you have to find 3 things you have in common with everyone in the group then each person has to write down something unique about themselves. You will then go up and present to project to everyone. People will have to guess which unique characteristic is yours. After the group activity, the recruiters will start calling people's names to head to the group interviews. They will be about 8 of you per group. You will go to another room with the recruiter and the other candidates. I heard they normally ask you 3 questions but our group was only asked 2. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, keep your responses short. There were some people's response that lasted for about 2 minutes. The first question they ask is "Tell us your name, something about you and why you want to be a flight attendant at American Airlines?". The second question is random, you will pick a card and cannot turn it over until its your turn to go. After the group interview they will take you back to the room you have your group activity. One of the recruiters will have a power point presentation basically giving you an idea of how a flight attendant job works, the benefits, pay, etc. After you can ask any questions. After the presentation, 3 or 4 recruiters will come in the room and start calling people's names. Some will be walked to the shuttle and some will be taken to do fingerprints. Luckily, I was one of the 40 people there that was chosen to do fingerprinting. I got my one on one interview, did a reach test and seat belt check. Only about 10 or 11 of us made it to fingerprints. If you make it that far, they will confirm your email and you will hear back from them in a few days. No one finds out if you get the job that day. I am putting accepted offer since I made it to the fingerprints. Now I just have to keep an eye on my email and hope I get the job!. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE! IT WAS AN AWESOME EXPERIENCE SO ENJOY IT!
