On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for a Senior Java Developer - Springboot & API Development, Node to Springboot Migration for a 2-year role. This position is a hybrid position with 2 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.

Senior Java Developer - Springboot & API Development, Node to Springboot Migration - Job Description:
The project involves migrating existing systems from Node to Spring Boot and upscaling using Azure. The role requires enhancing and developing APIs, ensuring seamless integration with mainframe systems, and contributing to the team’s overall success in a dynamic environment.

Senior Java Developer - Springboot & API Development, Node to Springboot Migration - Responsibilities:

• Develop and enhance APIs using Spring Boot and Kafka
• Set up databases from the ground up for new APIs
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth integration with mainframe systems
• Participate in knowledge transfer and onboarding processes
• Attend and contribute to daily meetings and team discussions

Senior Java Developer - Springboot & API Development, Node to Springboot Migration - Mandatory Skills:

• 8+ years of experience with Spring Boot, Kafka, and API development
• Experience setting up databases for new APIs
• Azure experience
• Understanding of API connection to mainframe systems
• Prior banking experience (big 5 banks)
• Experience with Dynatrace or Datadog
• Experience using GitHub CoPilot

Senior Java Developer - Springboot & API Development, Node to Springboot Migration – Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Azure fundamentals or Java certifications
• Experience migrating from Node to Spring Boot
• Prior banking experience

Senior Java Developer - Springboot & API Development, Node to Springboot Migration – Assignment Length:
This is a 2-year contract position with the possibility of extension based on business needs and performance.
