I have been working at Wipro full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Recognition for good work (if you work with a good manager)
Good exposure to the latest technologies (if you are lucky enough to know the right people within the org)
    Diverse clientele

    Cons

Bad salary (do i need to say more?)
Very much manager oriented (A man builds a house, a woman makes it a home translates to your degree gets you a job, your manager - purely and entirely makes it a career)
Inefficient middle management (I currently answer questions of a QA manager who has no clue what is going on in the project and is always confused)
Be nice to the manager, everything else is taken care of
Managers hiding facts from the customers
    Effort/cost estimation

    Advice to Management

Please reduce the levels of hierarchy
Provide a clear picture to your customers
Please do not bid for projects which you cannot afford to run
Get into projects only if you really want to do a good work on it and not because you want to get a project and show higher sales numbers. Bid fairly so that you ca provide billing to your resources. Do not bill for 1 person and make 3-4 people work with the same billing.
Train your managers the right way so that they do not expect their direct reports to leave work only after them. A person leaving work before his manager does not mean he is lazy or irresponsible. It just means he could do his work on time and wants to spend his time with his family. Please please inculcate mentality in your managers. I am paid for the 8 hours of the work and not for the whole of my time. Managers don't own me for 24 hours.
