I have been working at Wave full-time (Less than a year)
Pros
The people
The culture
The amazing product
The office space
Cons
Not many, really. If you're not used to the fast-paced start-up pace, then it may not be for you.
Advice to Management
Keep being amazing and transparent!
I have been working at Wave full-time (Less than a year)

- Wave genuinely cares about their user base
- Transparency from execs and management
- Managers seem to care about well-being of their workers
Cons
- The building is quite old but the interior is quite nice
Advice to Management
Keep up the great work!
I have been working at Wave full-time
Pros
Great Team, Great Leadership, Inspiring CEO, Opportunities for Growth, Excellent People & Culture team, 10/10 Office environment
Cons
Can't think of any cons
I worked at Wave full-time (More than a year)
Pros
Strong work life balance is very evident
Cons
Unfortunately, Wave is riddled with examples of the the Peter Principle in full effect. However, if you are wiling to accept the fact that each of these examples of incompetence (and there are many) are nothing more than symptom of a broken inheritance model, it is somewhat bearable.
Advice to Management
You should focus less on the Superstar and more on the Rockstars. The Rockstars are in for the long haul. The Superstar are purely opportunists that will eventfully leave regardless of what is offered.
I worked at Wave full-time
Pros
Great internal culture and everyone believes in helping small businesses.
Cons
Things take too long to move and with not enough innovation it feels like the work is just to maintain status quo
I have been working at Wave full-time (More than a year)
Pros
- The company cares about you
- You are surrounded by fun and smart people
- All teams move fast and push hard
- Good opportunities to grow inside the company
- The leadership team, led by Kirk (the CEO), is strong and often inspiring
- Wave is a great Toronto tech success story
Cons
- Moving fast and pushing hard is not for everybody
I have been working at Wave full-time
Pros
Incredible culture, very easy to feel like you are a part of something great, while being extremely well taken care of by an amazing HR team
Cons
As the company grows, it can be possible to lose sight of what makes the culture great. You have to give to get, and if you aren't willing to immerse yourself deeply within this culture, you can get stuck feeling like you're on the outside looking in.
Advice to Management
Keep up what you're doing; you're an amazing team that deeply cares about its employees and the company's customers.

I have been working at Wave full-time (Less than a year)
Pros
Coming from almost 20 years in the conservative, suit-heavy corporate world in downtown Toronto, moving to the startup, casual setting of Wave just outside of the "concrete jungle" was a big step for me. I left a world that I was comfortable in (probably too comfortable) and embarked on a new career journey filled with different ways of doing anything and everything. The first few weeks were scary, but it's amazing how comfortable you start to feel in your abilities to do your job and also how quickly you feel a part of the Wave culture. Everyone here is very friendly and ready to help and answer all your questions. As scary as it was I never felt any regret or questioned making the move to Wave. I have been incredibly happy here and I would recommend working here to anybody. Don't be afraid of change and don't be afraid to take a big leap of faith at something totally different and out of your comfort zone!
Cons
I wouldn't say there's any downside to working at Wave...I think, for me, the most important thing is to give yourself time to adjust to a new working environment, stay confident, accept the bumps in the road, and in a few months you'll be back to feeling like the "rockstar" you always knew u were.
Pros
- Great culture and product. People have passion for what they are working on.
- Get real responsibility as an intern
- Lots of learning opportunities
- Good perks
Cons
Constantly changing priorities. But it is understandable as the company is growing fast and there are so many things it can achieve.
I worked at Wave (Less than a year)

Great company culture, good perks and compensation.

Cons
Bussing to and from work can be difficult.
