Pros

We have a direct positive impact on candidate's lives, providing feedbacks, helping them improve their performance and, finally, helping them realize their dreams moving to a different country: this is a really meaningful part of what we do. It's always satisfying whenever a candidate has been committed, working hard and gets hired We get to work and interact with people from all over the world everyday, it's a 100% remote company, so we have plenty of flexibility As a recruiter, you don't have to source for candidates in several platforms: we have our own platform, work with our candidate base and there's a sourcing team focused on bringing new candidates to the platform as needed The company is still small, so your voice and ideas are heard, including when it comes to ideas to improve the platform

Cons

Recruiters have a base salary + comission per hiring. The base salary is not great and the comission is highly affected by the type of client you're hiring candidates for (some clients are committed and invested and you can close a position pretty fast, but others are not that invested and might drag the process a lot, so there's just so much hard work you can do: it's almost like a lottery anytime a new client appears) Not having to source candidates from other platforms is great, but it means that the database of candidates might be limited, so sometimes you have a really strong finalist candidate that gets hired by another company, through another recruiter - which, of course, is great for the candidate, but not so much if you're after your comission or want to achieve your monthly hiring goal Sometimes, some people from the sales team focus too much on getting new client companies abroad and might leave some important steps of the selection process behind. Also, some of those clients might not be too committed on hiring someone from abroad and we have to put a lot of hard work on engaging the clients Our online platform might get buggy or really slow at times which can be annoying given it's our main working tool, however we have a tech team that works hard and is always available to solve these issues

Pros

They have the remote first culture and it is awesome Perks are good Some managers take care of their team. They try at least be a good company, engaging employees, bringing programs to the light

Cons

clearly, they don't have effective management, they control the accounts by credit card balance. Some managers don't even show up for work and run jobs for other company They judge for working 4DW (company policy due to economic-wise) e others who work the whole week are "better". It's more an entry company than a startup

Thank you for your feedback! We love being a remote culture-driven company that also offers perks that provide work-life balance to all team members from all over the globe. I don't know what you mean by "we control accounts by credit card balances." We have financial tools to monitor it. Unfortunately, the company was impacted by an external factor: the current economic recession. Our work culture and performance management are based on deliverables and not on hours worked, so you might not see many team members on the 09-05 schedule, but we make sure to have booked meetings and targets are honoured. The decision for the temporary four days-a-week work schedule due to the slow in business didn't come easy from the Leadership team, knowing the impact it would have on all the colleagues. Still, it was a contingency plan to save some colleagues' jobs and give time to the company to think of other strategies to get through this challenging moment. This measure was applied to everyone at all levels of the organization. I hope this helps to clarify some of your points. Please feel free to contact your leader or HR department if you have any questions, concerns or feedback. We are open to always getting better! HR Team

Pros

What can I say about VanHack? In my career, for the first time in 20 years, the alarm goes off, and I am stoked to come to work and be a part of something incredible. At VanHack, we are genuinely all passionate people who believe in impacting people's lives. Whether you are a part of the Tech team, Recruitment, Global Mobility, Growth or Candidate success, you are a part of something huge and something outside of yourself. We are a team that wins as a team. We are a humble team where it is safe to make mistakes, but most importantly, we hack together. Before joining VanHack, I was unclear on what they were doing. Were they an academy? Were they a recruiting agency? Was it a SaaS platform? After doing my research (which I highly recommend doing), I was determined that this was a team, and these were my kind of people, and I was going to get the job! I reached out to my network, spoke with customers and people who knew the leadership team, and figured it was time to make a move. The best thing that happened in 2020 was making that decision. Overcoming My Fears of Working for a Distributed Team: As an extreme extrovert, I was afraid of not having face-to-face contact initially to develop relationships with other team members. After two weeks, I felt confident. My onboarding was incredible; the team welcomed me and set up meetings. The benefit of an organization that started distributed meant that I had the toolbox to learn quickly and get up to speed. The team invests in technology that allows incredible learning opportunities to learn from peers. The thrill of working and running like a Start-UP: I love working in a small, agile, sprinting company, not overburdened by process and bureaucracy. VanHack is a financially stable organization and grows our team sustainably. Here, you can feel like you can own process improvements, work with the team to bust our best learning practices, and take ownership of projects and make an impact. Mentorship and Professional Development Opportunities: There are lots of professional development opportunities. There are educational credits available to all, but also other learning opportunities and mentorship programs available. All women in the company can be mentored through a program through Locelle; I have found it incredible. Our teams are encouraged to learn, to grow, and encouraged to help upskill. I have been encouraged to join networking, lunch clubs, lunch roulette and many other opportunities, where I have been able to grow my network and my knowledge base of the tech ecosystem. Using Tech to build Better Teams and Collaborative Workspaces: Great tools, social events, and layers of collaborative workspaces. The teams work together to work smarter, not harder, and we are constantly utilizing our tech teams to make our lives easier. Making an Impact: We are making an impact in the world, the lives of our candidates. We are making an impact for our peers and colleagues and for the companies we serve. Everyone at Vanhack plays a role, and to be part of something bigger than ourselves, more significant than our departments or teams, and for that, I think it is incredible to be a part of.

Cons

It's hard work but it's super rewarding! We really rally as a team and work very hard to achieve our collective mission. If you are looking for a mundane and a bureaucratic enterprise, need not apply.
