Some supportive colleagues, opportunities to learn different products. Downtime between customers where you can sit and do your own tasks. Tips are provided. Access to unsold cakes.

Cons

High risk of burns from equipment. Vision and dental insurance only available to employees with PR.

Pros

Good service environment. Professional operational staff and operational management. Despite the pay and limited benefits, you stay for the people and the quality of work. It is satisfying to make high-quality products daily. Hours are also consistently given, which is reassuring, given the cost of the city.

Cons

Limited operational culture and staff connection - mainly due to high operational staff turnover. Corporate management extremely cost sensitive. Salaries are at minimum wage, making retention of effective staff in a big city very challenging.

Pros

The pay and location were good. Comfortable uniform which is a tshirt, apron, hair net and cap. Any pants and non slip shoes. One of the supervisors wore leggings.

Cons

Trainers were unprofessional, constantly flirting and even shouting at each other though not work-related. They were passive aggressive and it created a hostile work environment. One trainer in particular refused to speak to me at all while they constantly flirted with the person training me. They would not show up on time to open the store on time, making it so we could not clock in on time. Constantly being recorded and filmed and posted to social media without permission or release form. Injured hands from folding hundreds of boxes daily. High turnover rate. They publicly announced to everyone when someone was fired or let go. Shifts were updated at the last minute up to the night before. Received shift during days that were set as not available. Management relied on using an app to communicate instead of speaking to us like humans, yet they did not read messages. Did not have a chance to drink water while talking to customers and no one would cover.
