Pros

Health insurance premiums fully paid for. Training reimbursement program.

Cons

Little prospect for promotion unless you’ve been there a long time. No flexibility in remote work. Management has little to no strategy. Previous contracts written at a loss so company had to cut employees and not provide clients with services. Engineers often inexperienced with several senior developers having no outside experience. Code base structure is questionable with inexperienced architecture although improvements are attempted.

Pros

Small company. They pay you. It's a full time job with benefits in the software industry. Some cool people work there.

Cons

Small company. Upper management doesn't understand or listen to employees views and concerns. Lots of favoritism and bias happening. No aims towards diversity or company growth. Remote work vs in office policies are biased and detrimental to the type of work that needs to be done. Company doesn't seem like it's going under, but it's not growing either. Future seems stagnant. Company culture is mostly fear based. No one dares say anything for fear of losing their job or receiving retaliation. Some upper management is very difficult to talk to and work with, they say one thing then take it back later or say the opposite.

Pros

Some people don’t pay anything for healthcare. Some people can work from home.

Cons

The people and code actively contradict themselves. There’s not historical documentation. No listed goals (annual, quarterly, etc). If interviewing, ask what your first 60/90 days will be. I’d put dollars to donuts that they can’t tell you. It’s a boys club AND a girls club. Neither are productive. If you aren’t in a clique, you won’t feel like you belong and your work will be actively sabotaged in ways such as delayed review, more scrutiny on communication, more write ups expected from you but not others, taking more time to explain yourself than doing the work.
