Pros

Pay is OK. Flexibility to work remotely. Most managers are kind. Internal movement.

Cons

The entire company has struggled with "start-up" issues while having been in business for over 10 years. The company tries to say they pay well but many colleagues have not gotten a raise in years, even with rising cost of inflation. The company is OK to pay outside vendors thousands of dollars and internal staff are kept on a tight budget and leash. Whatever the big boss says, goes, even if it means sacrificing your own life at the fear of being fired. Everyone is constantly overworked, especially upper management. The risk of being fired and set up to fail is high. The company and executives only care about the number of products, projects, and developments that are pumped out each day. Quantity over Quality. The CEO is chaotic and does not care about his internal team or the actual life they live outside of Topstep. Oftentimes, they are emailing internal teams way after work hours, 2 AM, on multiple occasions.

Pros

The four day work week so you don’t have to experience the pain on Fridays. The business makes money and can make more.

Cons

Most of the company left in 2021 after a financial fallout including individuals on the exec and leadership team. The employees still there believe they are the smartest and know how to run the place but the absolute reality is that they ended up being puppets to the founder of the company. I’ll stay away from details and examples but transparency was lost and priorities were constantly changing. The founder’s belief was this is how you run a company, watched the competitors and follow their path. Constant shifting to stay just a smidge ahead of them. They’ll make money but not with a smart team or living up to the mission. Us who have left hope they get it together but I’ve heard the company is worse. It’s unfortunate cause it use to be a great place to work and be empowered. It became all about the business model and money.
