Pros

Great people in Service. All about quality and doing it right the first time. Good teamwork and willingness to provide a service with the company in mind.

Cons

Overworked, underpaid. Ideal if you're a Sales Rep. No recognition or incentives for service other than a $50 gift card for Walmart if you have the most survey cards returned. Expected to work on personal time. Shady on mileage reimbursement. Some segment managers micromanage to the extreme. Tight-fisted when it comes to raises. Numbers can look great, customers can like you and can have all positive accommodations but at review time the excuses are plentiful. Don't expect more than a 25% raise and thats if you get one.

This post is for the wrong company. Perhaps it was for another Datamax company. The following references are not part of any existing or previous company program: a) we don't offer gift cards to Walmart, b) we don't have a survey card return program, and c) we don't have "Segment Managers." We do provide annual job reviews, performance-based raises, and a service-oriented bonus program with an opportunity for monetary incentive. We do have a service department career path with mentoring to provide guidance and promote achievement.

Pros

Nice landscaping and grounds keeping.

Cons

I was able to expand my vocabulary by working for SumnerOne. Before being employed here, I never used the words psychological experiment, gaslighting or toxic. Diversity is non existent. Their healthcare is a horribly discounted, self funded platform. Ownership keeps track of the high spenders and reminds recruiters older folks cost the plan more. Don’t dare put on a few pounds. The owner does not like plump people. Looking to boost your 401k? Look elsewhere. They have a marginal match. The copier business is declining and their IT business never took off. Yes HR is well aware of employee concerns. There isn’t a thing they can do. Seniority is pretty low and inexperienced new hires are training even newer hires. During the pandemic, they cut hours, stopped the small 401k match, let a large amount of people go and then they applied for the PPP loan. Vehicle theft and vandalism is a common and regular thing. The building is neglected.

Thank you for sharing your feedback about your experience at SumnerOne. We take all feedback seriously and appreciate your perspective. While we understand that you have raised several concerns, we would like to provide some clarity on certain points. Regarding diversity, we are committed to fostering an environment that values and respects individuals from all backgrounds. Our efforts in DEI are continuously evolving and enhancing to promote the fair treatment and full participation of all employees of SumnerOne. Some ways we are actively addressing this in a positive way include: identifying metrics to measure and track DE&I, understanding the demographics of our current workforce, identifying representation of underrepresented groups in leadership positions, teams, events, and more, measuring levels of engagement and employee satisfaction, and the creation and successful launch of the culture committee comprised of over 40 employees. Our healthcare plan is designed to balance affordability and comprehensive coverage. We regularly review and assess our benefits offerings to ensure they meet the needs of our workforce. This includes an annual benefits survey, of which we relay responses back to employees and successfully acted on almost all commonly referenced suggestions and concerns this year. We are proud to have not only maintained our employee premiums for 7+ years now, but to have decreased them for employees in the last 2 years. Additionally, we have been able to decrease deductibles, while also offering a broader network option. Concerning the 401k match, we offer a matching contribution that aligns with industry standards. In remaining competitive and ensuring fair value to employees, we regularly review the retirement plan itself and will continue to do so every year. It is important to note that we also offer annual profit sharing and PTO rollover into the 401k plan, which is not industry standard and is an added benefit to the structure of the 401k plan. We are continually adapting to the evolving market landscape. Our diversified portfolio allows us to navigate changes and provide comprehensive solutions to our clients. Regarding the pandemic-related measures, we, like many businesses, had to make difficult decisions to navigate the unprecedented challenges. We worked diligently to balance the needs of our employees and the sustainability of the company during this time. Regarding security and building maintenance, we take the safety and well-being of our employees seriously. We have implemented security measures such as: hiring on-site security professionals, installing security gates, and regularly assessing our facilities to ensure a safe and comfortable working environment. We appreciate your feedback and encourage you to reach out to our HR department directly at hr@sumnerone.com. We value the experiences and perspectives of our employees and remain committed to creating a positive work environment for all.
