Pyramid scheme

Pros

The people are friendly and easy to get along with. If you don't mind the pyramid aspect of it, you can advance quickly.

Cons

They do a very good job of masking the pyramid scheme. I went for my interview thinking this was an event marketing firm for charitable and large name companies. This is how their website describes the company. When in fact they work for direct tv and are the people at gas stations that walk up to cars selling wax.

Pros

The biggest positive here is that you (100%) dictate your success or failure. By it being a performance-based atmosphere, your income is a true reflection of your efforts. To add, if you are a leader by nature, you can grow within the ranks in less than a year.

Cons

Sacrifice. The only people that make it to a management spot with this company are the people willing to sacrifice time. It requires quite a few hours weekly to mold an entry-level person into a manager in less than a year.

Pros

Statewide Events has never misrepresented itself or its pay structure. Guarantee amounts are based upon individual experience and qualifications. Upon hire, a contract is signed outlining the conditions of the guaranteed pay. If conditions are not met, such as not showing up to work, not participating at work, etc... it does forfeit the conditions of the contract, which are clearly stated and signed by employees. There is ONE employee, who has abandoned her job, and not picked up her paycheck, which is still waiting and available at Statewide Events. No employee is unpaid or not given clear documented clarification of pay structure prior to hiring.

Cons

Unfortunately individuals tend NOT to listen to the HRM when pay is explained, or read the documents in which they are required to sign prior to working- which very clearly explain pay, benefits, etc... resulting in such complaints.
