I worked at Shell full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Employee focused, provides many opportunities for career development. Higher than industry average salary, benefits and company paid vacations.

    Cons

There is no downside of this company.

    Pros

Amazing freedom, scope and opportunities. Boss is wonderful, one of the best and most inspiring leaders I have ever had the pleasure to work with!

    Cons

It can get lonely with half the company in California. But virtual meetings help to warm the place up. Thank goodness for free ld!

    Advice to Management

I think you are doing a bang up job. I wouldn't change much. Perhaps build in more trips to bring the staff together more often.

    I worked at Shell full-time

    Pros

    Benefits and salary, international opportunities.

    Cons

You're a number in a huge corporation (no surprises). Also, I was an employee in Canada and starting in 2014 there were continuous mass layoffs, multiple times a year.

I worked at Shell full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

-good salary and benefits, bonuses, pension
-Many good people to deal with.
-Small sites have a heavy workload. Double/Triple hatted.

    Cons

-some of the mgmt are toxic, out for them and damn the workers.

    Advice to Management

-mgr's should hold posted because of what they know and not who they know.

I have been working at Shell full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great pay, great exposure to technical experience, strong focus on safety great benefits, and some really good people

    Cons

Shrinking presence in Canada, leading to a limited number of opportunities. The constant downsizing, focus on reducing cost, and restructuring has left employees wary. Plus a constant "re-inventing of the wheel" with new ways of working, new processes and new management styles

    Advice to Management

Remember to treat employees like family and to encourage them to have fun at work. And to stop shaking the ground underneath, but that's hard to do with the oil downturn
