Quittance Legal Services (QLS) is a really exciting, nurturing place to work. I found everyone to be honest with feedback, but supportive too. It is a professional environment, but not too stuffy. My personal ethos is that the customer’s needs should always come first, and throughout my time working at Quittance, I saw many examples of this in practice. I worked with the conveyancing solicitor and personal injury solicitor team for most projects. My main focus was the constant improvement of online and offline services to home buyers and sellers as well as people who had been injured and were seeking financial compensation. Customers’ questions and concerns were always dealt with immediately, as the highest priority. When dealing with legal matters, emotions can run high, but it was great when you could step in and really make a difference to the outcome. The company is excellent at combining old-fashioned customer service values with evolving IT systems. This meant that I was frequently involved in defining and improving processes and feeding these into the IT development team. I can remember numerous occasions when this delivered real enhancements for conveyancing and personal injury clients in particular. It is very rewarding when you can see how your efforts translate. I am quite emotional about leaving - something I am only doing due to the pressures of a young family. Quittance have been very accommodating and told me that I am welcome back and could even work part-time or flexible hours. This won’t be possible for me, at least initially. However I may take them up on this in next year or so if they will still have me! P.S. Sorry to all those solicitors I drove mad with requests for updates. ;-)
Cons
It’s hard to pick out any real issues, but if you are a new graduate looking for a formal, long-term training program, that’s not what Quittance offers. What they do offer is a chance to work closely with really knowledgeable, supportive and friendly people.
