Pros

- Some of the nicest people I've worked with. - Training and development opportunities. - Most staff are very knowledgeable. - Guaranteed stability as a civil servant. - Most senior managers are approachable and willing to make things easier for staff.

Cons

- No food facilities other than microwaves, burco boilers and fridges. - Most computers, chairs, etc. are well past their prime. - Minimal parking & public transport links. - Condescending attitude (common) or verbal abuse (rarer) from civil service "colleagues". - Under-resourced in every possible way. - The money is crap, especially given the location in D4, so everyone commutes.

Pros

+++++ the people - the loveliest staff you’ll meet and we have great banter every day! So much younger demographic than across the civil service + flexi time - come in between 8-10, lunch between 12:30-2:30, home between 4-7. This provides great work-life balance + overtime opportunities on Sat/Sun (team dependent). Pay 1.25 in the morning, double time in the afternoon

Cons

- most teams jobs are very repetitive - you’ll be an expert in your area in a year - some managers can be tough to deal with - poor pay (grade dependent), however this is across the civil service. - lack of training opportunities (again, team dependent, some managers very reluctant to allow while others actively encourage it)
