*Paid only once a month. (Paid on the 15th of each month, for the work performed the prior month.)
*No 401K matching (Though it was promised that it would be implemented, haven't seen any sign of that happening.)
*Nepotism. Lots of nepotism.
*Office support staff expected to work VERY long hours, on a routine basis.
*There's always some major drama caused by management, that adds unneeded stress and job instability on employees.
*No annual raise/cost of living/performance evaluations. Negotiate your salary as if you're going to be stuck at that rate for as long as you work there.
*No updated employee handbook or reliable policies for anything. (Compensation for regular weekend work, travel time, overtime, leave policies, etc all subject to change on the CEO's whim.)
*Be prepared to get shuffled around with no notice. If you're hired to work one schedule, expect it to change dramatically with no notice or compensation for added time working.
*SHADY business practices. (In the past, some employees were made to work MANY extra hours, which led to them over-billing a contract. This was discovered when they were getting close to the end of the contract, and were running out of hours to bill, but still needed to complete the task. To reduce the contract burn rate, OTHER EMPLOYEES were sent on vacation. These other employees included CEO's family members, and favored employees. Meanwhile, those who had worked the extra hours to begin with had to continue working.)
*Expect to wait a few months to be reimbursed for travel expenses.
*Very high stress environment with petty office politics and drama that don't need to exist, bu are part of the corporate culture.
*Can't trust anything that anyone tells you.
