In my experience, National Positive Behaviour Support demonstrates a significant lack of effective leadership and management capability. Management appears heavily focused on billable hours and revenue targets rather than prioritising participant wellbeing or ethical service delivery. Decisions often feel reactive rather than strategic, with corners being cut to maintain cash flow rather than ensuring best-practice outcomes for participants. A major concern is the allocation of highly complex participant files to staff who do not have the appropriate skills, experience, or support to manage those needs safely and effectively. When concerns are raised about suitability, risk, or compliance, they are often dismissed rather than constructively addressed, leaving staff feeling unsupported and professionally exposed. Staff turnover has been extremely high. Over the past 12 months, it appears that approximately 50% of employees have left the organisation, which speaks volumes about morale, culture, and sustainability. The workplace culture, in my view, is unprofessional and increasingly toxic, at times bordering on bullying. There is limited psychological safety for staff to raise concerns, and little genuine regard shown for either employees or participants. It is also my understanding, based on information shared internally, that the Director has been under review by Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) on more than one occasion and is currently suspended while that process is ongoing. This has further contributed to uncertainty, instability, and a lack of confidence in leadership and governance. Based on what I have observed, I hold serious concerns regarding the organisation’s overall approach to compliance and governance. In the current regulatory and NDIS environment, I would not be surprised if these issues are identified by regulators in the months ahead unless there is a substantial change in leadership, systems, and accountability. I have never worked for an organisation like this. Based on my experience, I would strongly caution others to think carefully before engaging with or working for this company. Without meaningful reform, I have significant doubts about the organisation’s long-term viability.
