So disappointing

Pros

A lot of people who join the organisation are genuinely passionate about improving outcomes for those in rural Australia.

Cons

As many have commented here, Executive Team are dysfunctional at best. The HR Team treat staff like liabilities and the CEO is charismatic and presents well, but is ultimately responsible for the organisation having a toxic culture - you’d think a CEO with as many degrees as he brags about would be able to run what is a very small company full of people who took a pay cut to be there because they believe in the purpose.

Avoid - not a good career option

Pros

It's a small organisation so it is easy to keep track of everyone despite the extremely high turnover.

Cons

The staff turnover is reflective of the C-Suite's approach to staff. I was there for less than six months and from week 1 the CEO would tell me how he wanted to fire a lot of people, that staff were expendable, and that they didn't understand the organisation properly.

Pros

The teams and second level management are great, doing really valuable work and supported by corporate services well. Sadly they have no voice though.

Cons

The CEO is devastating the company through bullying and manipulative tactics. The C Suite Executive has no leadership skills at all. They are so focussed on strategy that the good work that’s happening gets ignored,. Meanwhile the company is falling apart with people leaving in droves and they don’t see that they are the reason because they are too busy patting themselves on the back It’s devastating and the damage will take a long time and effort to fix.. The board is ignorant of the issue and the staff are petrified to act. The really sad part is that there some great leaders at RDN, but they are intimidated.
