Cons

Sometimes allow people who aren't reliable to keep their job without much consequence for far after they should have been let go

Pros

ModifyHealth is one of those rare companies where the culture is genuinely lived, not just stated. Leadership treats employees with respect, trust, and compassion, and it shows in both day-to-day interactions and in how they support team members during major life events. Colleagues step in without hesitation, teams collaborate naturally, and the environment feels safe to learn, ask questions, and grow. The mission is meaningful, the work impacts real people, and there are plenty of opportunities to take ownership and contribute to process improvements. Leadership is open to feedback, transparent about priorities, and consistently working to make systems more efficient. It really is a people-first culture built around authenticity and shared purpose.

Cons

The pace can move quickly, especially during large program launches or periods of growth. Processes continue to evolve as the company scales, so employees need to be comfortable with change, adaptability, and problem-solving. For someone who prefers a rigid, slow-moving environment, the fast pace might feel challenging, but for those who thrive in dynamic settings, it’s energizing.

Pros

- Absolutely no pros to working here other than learning to deal with dishonesty.

Cons

Lack of Transparency and Invasion of Privacy: One of the most alarming aspects of working at this company was that my voice was recorded on customer service calls without my knowledge or consent ( This has been happening with other employees too and I have evidence to corroborate this). I was never informed of this practice when I started, nor was it part of any formal policy that was communicated to me. This felt like a serious violation of my privacy and made me extremely uncomfortable. Every employee should have the right to be informed about and give consent to such practices, especially in a professional setting. Toxic Work Environment and Unprofessional Management: My experience with my direct manager was nothing short of hostile. The manager frequently used foul language during discussions, even in professional settings, which created a very toxic work environment. Worse, whenever I asked for help or clarification on tasks, I was met with hostility, threatened by my manager, and accused of incompetence rather than being supported. This culture of intimidation made it incredibly difficult to feel safe or valued as an employee, and any attempts to escalate these issues were ignored or brushed aside. Lack of Support and Training: Despite the complex nature of the work, there was little to no training provided. When I asked for help to better understand the systems or procedures, I was treated as though I should already know everything and was berated, threatened, and abused. My requests for guidance were met with frustration and anger from management. This lack of proper training created unnecessary stress and led to mistakes, which could have been easily avoided with the right support. Unjust Termination Without Warning: Perhaps the most disappointing part of my experience was being terminated without any prior warning or constructive feedback. I was terminated due to retaliation on the part of the company just for speaking out and calling out my managers unprofessional and unethical behavior. There was no communication about performance issues or opportunities for improvement. I was simply let go and had my hours cut, which felt abrupt and unfair. This practice not only shows a complete disregard for employee well-being but also reflects poorly on the company’s values and approach to managing people. Culture of Fear and Intimidation: The overall culture at this company is one of fear and intimidation. I saw grown women breaking down in tears in front of me because of the abusive, toxic, and horrible environment created by our 'manager'. There’s no sense of teamwork, growth, or mutual respect. Instead, employees are left feeling expendable and unsupported. Management seems more concerned with maintaining control through fear and intimidation than actually helping employees succeed. Advice to Management: This company desperately needs to address its toxic culture and lack of transparency. Recording employees without their consent is a huge red flag and a violation of trust. The management team should undergo serious training on professionalism and people management, as foul language, threats, and intimidation tactics are completely unacceptable in any workplace. Furthermore, if there are performance concerns, management should communicate them openly and give employees a chance to improve before resorting to intimidation and retaliation. A more supportive and transparent environment would benefit both the employees and the company’s reputation. Also, to all prospective job seekers, please be on the lookout for their hiring manager and VP (who was unfortunately my manager): she seems like a very nice and caring person upfront, but she is a wolf in sheep's clothing: she's deceptive, very aggressive, unprofessional, extremely dishonest, unethical and incompetent. She is a very nasty person and not a person ANY company should allow their employees to report to. Modify Health should get rid of her.
